About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking talented individuals for a Non-Destructive Test (NDT) Quality Specialist to support our Quality team in North Charleston, SC. Requirements

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Ultrasonic Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Eddy Current Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
  • Willing to work variable shifts, including weekend overtime rotations and occasional shift overtime
  • Capable of working in confined spaces
  • 3+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
  • 3+ years of experience inspecting parts, components, assemblies, or units

Nice To Haves

  • Current or prior NAS410 or equivalent certified Level 2 in Penetrant and/or Magnetic Particle and/or Radiography Testing; must have documented evidence available for Boeing Level 3 review
  • Able to work from heights up to 55 feet
  • Experience analyzing and interpreting Ultrasonic C-scans
  • Digital radiography, liquid penetrant, magnetic particle experience
  • Able to fit through a 10'' X 18'' oval opening
  • Experience inspecting composite material
  • 3+ years of experience writing NDT procedures and techniques
  • Understanding of Continuous Improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Performs setup for specialized non-destructive test or measurement equipment
  • Performs tests or inspections and collects data
  • Documents, analyzes and communicates results and assists with corrective action recommendations
  • Utilizes technical competencies to provide feedback on adverse trends
  • Responsible for non-destructive testing and acceptance of repairs to company products
  • Conducts on-the-job training (OJT)
  • Adheres to Boeing policies, processes and major inspection methods procedures
