About The Position

Annaly is seeking a Non-Delegated Underwriter (VP/Director) with significant Non-QM experience. This candidate will also be tasked to assist in the implementation of a new correspondent channel. In addition to having a strong underwriting background along with in-depth knowledge of mortgage products and regulatory compliance, the candidate would play a key role in building an impeccable process. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of relevant credit experience in the residential mortgage whole loan market, preferably Non-QM underwriting. In addition, they should have the ability to make credit decisions/help assist the Onslow Bay scenario desk, closely interact with our correspondent partners and monitor market underwriting guidelines.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in whole loan underwriting, collateral, funding and post close review process
• Previous team lead or supervisor experience
• Bachelor's Degree required
• Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license preferred

• Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and prioritize accordingly
• Ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally, with Senior Management regarding the progress and results of projects and initiatives
• Ability to work effectively under time constraints

Responsibilities

• Main point of contact for newly formed origination channel
• Review work of junior underwriters, processors, fulfillment agents and confirm credit decisions
• Training support for Non-Delegated Correspondents in utilizing a new channel
• Assist in the build out a client support team to ensure that clients needs are being met in a timely manner
• Understand the multiple pieces involved in the entire ecosystem and be able to escalate accordingly
• Monitor market guidelines and recommend enhancements to Onslow Bay's guideline set
• Ability to effectively communicate Onslow Bay underwriting guidelines
