About The Position

Conklin Metal Industries is currently seeking candidates for a Non-CDL Delivery Driver/Warehouse Associate. The Non-CDL Driver/Warehouse Associate primarily operates various trucks and tractors in accordance with all DOT regulations to transport product safely and legally from our warehouse to the Customer locations. This position is flexible: If there is a high demand for deliveries, most of the time on the job will be spent operating the truck or trailer. When there is low demand for deliveries, time will be spent focused on warehouse duties. LOCATION: On-Site at Conklin Metal's Charleston Branch 607 Tradeport Drive Summerville, SC 29472 COMPANY DESCRIPTION: Conklin Metal Industries is a distributor of all types of sheet metal, HVAC, and duct fabrication supplies. Our founding dates to 1874 and is now in its fourth generation as a family owned and operated business. We service the entire southeastern U.S. out of seventeen (17) warehouses. Our customers include sheet metal contractors, mechanical contractors, duct fabricators, residential/multi-family new construction contractors, and HVAC contractors who specialize in service and replacements. We are a one stop shop for every component used in the construction and installation of a commercial or residential HVAC Duct system. This includes the sheet metal for the rectangular or spiral/round duct, plus all the materials to connect, fasten, insulate, attenuate sound, control vibration, reinforce, direct air flow, provide access, and ultimately hang and seal. We also stock the widest array of sheet metal forming machinery in the southeast.

Requirements

Must be available 7am-4pm Monday-Friday (home every night, off weekends)
Must have, or be able to obtain, a DOT medical card
Clear driving record
Must be able to lift 50lbs (or more) without assistance
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screen required for employment

Nice To Haves

Previous flatbed truck driving experience preferred
Prior forklift experience with sit down and stand-up lifts preferred
Delivery experience to Commercial customers a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Operates a 20ft stake body truck to ensure product is delivered in a timely manner.
Monitors freight for secure devices and straps to ensure products are delivered to their destination free of damage.
Required to follow company policy, participate in required trainings, follow all established driver processes.
Maintain professional conduct and attitude towards other motorists who share the highway, customers and vendors making contact during performance of duties.
Workday will include splitting time between working in the warehouse and making deliveries to customers
Pick orders for shipment, ensuring that the correct number and type of product is loaded.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
May be required to operate a forklift or order picker for picking orders.
Pack orders for shipments by parcel, LTL, and TL carriers.
Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
