About The Position

Heritage Landscape Supply Group is seeking a full time Non-CDL Driver responsible for operating a vehicle for transporting goods, products, or materials to various destinations. The Non CDL Driver will support the Branch operations, by delivering materials to jobsites, paying special attention to our vendors/contractors’ needs and the owner's property. The workweek is Monday through Friday, with an opportunity for overtime during the busy season. The primary responsibility of the Non CDL Driver is for the safe and accurate delivery to a customer’s place of business or job site. Other duties include confirming inventory loaded on the truck, comparing purchase orders, sign-off on delivery tickets, confirming addresses on delivery tickets and ensuring that routing information is obtained prior to leaving the branch. Loading and unloading materials to and from the delivery truck by light duty piggyback forklift or by hand, securing material to the truck. Picking up customer returns from the jobsite.

Requirements

  • Must have basic math skills for inventory counts; and English verbal and written skills to be able to read purchase orders and communicate with team members.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must complete a pre-employment background check, drug test, FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) Clearinghouse.
  • Must be a safe driver with no hit & runs or no DWI or DUI convictions within the last 36 months (about 3 years).
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Skilled at driving large vehicles.
  • Good driving record.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience operating a forklift a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Non CDL Truck for local material deliveries to customers.
  • Conduct pre and post trip inspections of the truck, load materials accurately, verify the load, and unload materials at the site safely.
  • Inform managers about any repairs and maintenance required on truck.
  • Load and unload building products that weigh up to 100 lbs., ensuring the materials are staged appropriately at the jobsite.
  • Loading, unloading, and staging orders in the warehouse, yard, and other job site environments.
  • Capture pictures of all products delivered in accordance with company policy.
  • Maintain regular communication with the manager for timely product delivery.
  • Ensure materials are properly secured to prevent breakage or damage.
  • Adhere to all safety policies.
  • Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs; 50 lbs on a repetitive basis
  • Communicate professionally and promptly with customers.
  • Inspect materials that are returned for condition and quantity before storing them in the warehouse.
  • An eye for safety including vehicle inspections, load securement, and general rules of the road.
  • Understanding and adherence to the regulations detailed in the FMCSA.
