NON - CDL Delivery Driver/Warehouse - Evenings
About The Position
Pilkington North America, part of the Nippon Sheet Glass (NSG) group since 2006, is one of the world’s largest glassmakers, manufacturing and distributing automotive and flat glass for the automotive and building industries. The company focuses on training and developing its team for promotions and growth. This position involves the prompt delivery of glass to customers, maintaining positive customer relations, and fostering a positive local work environment. Key responsibilities also include receiving and unpacking glass shipments at the warehouse, collaborating with lead personnel to ensure high levels of customer service, locating and removing parts from stock, visually inspecting and accurately loading glass onto trucks for delivery, stocking the warehouse, maintaining inventory accuracy, and processing orders from the warehouse office.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and an ability to read maps.
- Ability to lift 35-45 pounds on a frequent basis and on occasion up to 70 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift, order picker, and basic hand tools.
- Good attendance will be required.
- Proficiency in English language (verbal and written).
- Good customer relations skills – Client interaction required.
- Ability to work in temperatures similar to the outdoors within the area of the assigned Service Center.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Personal Computer skills including computerized inventory system.
- Previous delivery driving, material handling, and glass experience.
- Previous commercial driving experience (2-years minimum).
Responsibilities
- Delivers glass to customers promptly.
- Develops and maintains good customer relations on delivery at all times.
- Develops and maintains positive local work environment.
- Receives glass shipments and unpacks incoming trucks at warehouse.
- Works closely with the lead person to achieve a high level of complete customer service.
- Locates required parts in warehouse and removes from stock.
- Visually inspects glass and loads parts accurately on the truck for delivery from warehouse.
- Stocks the warehouse, putting parts in their assigned racks.
- Checks inventory to maintain its accuracy for delivery.
- Receives orders from warehouse office.
