About The Position

University of Louisville Physicians (ULP) is seeking non-academic Pulmonologists for UofL Health's newest community hospital, UofL Health - South Hospital! UofL Health has invested in the health of Bullitt County, and the surrounding area. South Hospital adds approximately 100,00 sq. feet of new space to the existing facility adding 10-bed ICU, 30 medical/surgical patient rooms, 20 future patient rooms, cardiopulmonary, respiratory therapy, and support space!

Requirements

  • Medical Doctorate degree
  • Physician license for state of Kentucky
  • ACLS/BLS Certification
  • Epic/Cerner EMR experience is preferred
  • Strong computer and keyboarding skills

Responsibilities

  • ICU and Pulmonary IP coverage (APP support on nights)
  • Outpatient procedures
  • Building a large outpatient practice in a newly designed office
  • Performing procedures including but not limited to: Insertion/management of chest tube, Insertion/management of central venous catheters, Bronchoscopy w/wo biopsy, Paracentesis, thoracentesis, Mechanical ventilation management, chronic and acute, Percutaneous tracheostomy, Tracheal intubations, Moderate Sedation/Analgesia
  • Assessing the physical status of clients through interview, health history and physical examination and both inpatient and outpatient services
  • Formulating treatment plans for health problems and follow-ups
  • Writing prescriptions for medication, blood tests and routine diagnostic and follow-up studies and therapeutic measures
  • Evaluating the quality of care provided and recommending changes for improvement
  • Sharing clinical expertise with personnel
  • Documenting and reporting care in an accurate and timely manner
  • Maintaining compliance with all company policies, procedures and standards of conduct
  • Performing other duties as assigned
