The organization is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Nocturnist Physician to join its dedicated inpatient medicine team in the Shelton, CT region. This night-focused role includes overseeing overnight admissions, cross-coverage, rapid evaluations, and maintaining continuity of care during nighttime hours. Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
- Eligible for Connecticut state medical licensure
- Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Nocturnist or hospitalist experience preferred; fresh graduates encouraged to apply
Responsibilities
- Handle overnight admissions and cross-cover cases
- Provide rapid assessment and management of acute inpatient issues
- Maintain clinical oversight of all inpatient units during night shifts
- Collaborate with nurses and consult with on-call specialists when required
- Ensure accurate, timely EMR documentation
- Conduct morning handoff to day hospitalist team
- Participate in patient safety, quality initiatives, and team-based care programs
