About The Position

The Advanced Practice Providers (APP), Physician Assistant (PA) or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) including Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) or Nurse Practitioner (NP), work in collaboration with the hospitalist physician in the hospital-based inpatient setting. The APP will work the night shift (7P-7A). This position requires a high level of independent clinical decision-making. The APRN or PA-C should demonstrate an advanced level of medical knowledge, clinical competency, sound clinical judgement, professionalism as it relates to interpersonal and general communication skills, timely and compliant documentation, and takes responsibility for ongoing professional development and competency validation.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree (Required)
  • AANP - American Association of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board.
  • APRN - Advanced Practice Registered Nurse License - State of Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • PA - Physician Assistant - National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Must have a current Physician Assistant License to practice in Ohio.
  • Must have and maintain a current Certification from the national certifying body National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • OR Must have a current APRN license to practice from the Ohio Board of Nursing.
  • Must have and maintain current Certification from a national certifying body American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), or American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN).

Responsibilities

  • Must have a Supervision Agreement (SA) or Standard Care Arrangement (SCA) with a physician in like practice.
  • Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her/their SA/SCA and delineation of privileges.
  • Obtaining and performing medical history and physical exams.
  • Recording and interpreting data (ex. Labs, diagnostic studies, progress notes, etc.).
  • Formulating and implementing treatment plans.
  • Maintaining communication with patient and families regarding medical care.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Actively participating in multidisciplinary rounds where needed.
  • Performing other related job duties as required.
