About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Aspire Transitional Care plays a crucial role in providing routine daily nursing care and services to residents, ensuring their comfort and well-being. This position involves assisting in various nursing department functions and adhering to established policies and procedures, all while delivering exceptional service in a supportive and tranquil environment.

Requirements

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
• Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, and visitors.
• Must be able to work with ill, disabled, elderly, and emotionally upset people.
• Must be able to speak, write, and understand English effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

Responsibilities

• Perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the nurse.
• Perform personal care activities including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, skin care/nail care, oral hygiene, and shaving.
• Perform household services essential to health care at home including meal preparation/feeding, laundry, and light housekeeping.
• Initiate and participate in leisure activities for residents, encouraging socialization and participation in planned programs.
• Observe and document the health and emotional condition of each resident, reporting changes to the nurse.
• Respond promptly to resident requests for assistance and emergency pull cords.
• Promote personal safety and a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices.
• Assist residents in preparing and transporting for appointments and social programs.
• Assist with moving and transporting residents into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, and wheelchairs.
• Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed.
