About the position
The NOC Network Administrator at Peraton is responsible for providing ongoing network support within a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment. This role focuses on addressing availability issues, resolving performance problems, and ensuring high standards of network performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and will be committed to maintaining the integrity of the network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Provide ongoing support for network infrastructure, addressing issues related to availability and performance.
- Evaluate hardware, software, and peripheral equipment for large, complex networks.
- Manage and optimize network performance, diagnosing and resolving issues as needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network-related problems to ensure quality transmission services.
- Report on overall network performance, including identifying frequent problems, underlying issues, and plans for improvement.
- Provide timely and efficient incident response and resolution in a 24/7 environment.
- Follow procedures to validate, troubleshoot, and escalate issues.
Requirements
- 2 years with BS/BA; 0 years with MS/MA; 6 years with no degree
- Active Secret Clearance
- Security+ Certification
- Proven experience in networking, with a solid understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Additional certifications in networking or related fields
- Experience working in a NOC or similar operational support environment
- Familiarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
