About The Position

As a NOC Engineer I, you will play a pivotal role in providing foundational support for monitoring and managing Segra’s core, distribution, carrier last mile, and customer premise voice and data services. This position is an entry level engineer role and is focused on developing your technical skills and providing a comprehensive understanding of network operations from an engineering perspective. Your responsibilities include assisting with routine network surveillance, basic system troubleshooting, and documenting incidents and their resolutions. You will work closely with higher level engineers to escalate issues beyond your scope, learning to prioritize tasks in a dynamic 24x7 network operations center environment. Additionally, you will engage in training sessions to enhance your knowledge of deployed technologies and contribute to maintaining operational documentation. This role provides a pivotal starting point for a strong foundation for growing your expertise in network operations and prepares you for more complex tasks and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or 1 to 2 years of telecommunications experience required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • At least 2 years professional level technical or engineering experience with at least 1 year of experience in a similar industry; or an equivalent combination of education and professional level related Engineering/Technical experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills for engaging with customers, management, and team members.
  • Able to prioritize in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
