About The Position

You are a highly skilled and experienced network analyst responsible for the advanced troubleshooting and resolution of complex network issues within the Network Operations Center (NOC). You have a deep understanding of network protocols, architectures, and technologies, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. You act as an escalation point for critical network incidents and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

• VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP)
• Network security best practices
• Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds)
• Packet capture and analysis tools (Wireshark, TCPDump)
• Scripting languages (Python, Perl, Bash)
• Network automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Experience with network performance analysis and optimization

Nice To Haves

• CCNP or equivalent certifications preferred
• Experience with cloud-based network services (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience with network virtualization technologies (NSX, VMware)
• Experience with network security tools (IDS/IPS, SIEM)

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose and resolve complex network issues across a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to: SD-WAN; MPLS; Routing & Switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP); Firewalls (Cisco, Check Point, Palo Alto, Fortinet); VPNs; VoIP; Data Center Interconnects; and Wireless Networks
• Perform in-depth analysis of network traffic using packet capture tools (Wireshark, TCPDump) to identify root causes of performance issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex routing issues, including route flapping and blackholing.
• Conduct advanced carrier Ethernet testing and troubleshooting (RFC 2544 or equivalent).
• Proactively monitor network performance metrics (latency, jitter, packet loss) and identify potential issues.
• Analyze network alarms and events and take appropriate corrective actions.
• Enhance and refine network monitoring systems (NMS) for improved visibility and proactive issue detection.
• Mentor and guide junior NOC engineers on troubleshooting techniques and best practices.
• Provide technical expertise and support to other departments within the organization.
• Participate in incident response and disaster recovery planning and drills.
• Participate in network infrastructure projects, including planning, design, and implementation.
• Assist in the evaluation and deployment of new network technologies and services.
• Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all network incidents and resolutions.
• Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
