We are seeking an apartment maintenance professional to join our maintenance team at Ripley Gardens in Minneapolis, MN. The part-time Maintenance Technician will be responsible for all aspects of the physical operations of our apartment community that includes the responsibility to ensure that Aeon standards are met in each of the following areas: preventative maintenance, safety and security, physical condition, market appeal, customer service promises, and utility conservation standards. This position will also support the general upkeep of the property including regular trash removal and trash chute management. The Maintenance Technician will report directly to the Roving Senior Property Manager.

  • The completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned by performing a wide variety of general maintenance and repair functions including plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, air handler and general HVAC maintenance, lock changes, apartment turnovers, preventative maintenance, installation and repair of window coverings, doors, cabinets, light fixtures, etc.
  • Regular trash chute maintenance and management
  • Regular inside/outside debris removal
  • Seasonal duties: light snow removal, salting/sanding
  • Must have a demonstrated skillset in general apartment maintenance.
  • Willingness and skills around daily upkeep and light groundskeeping.
  • Ability to engage in interpersonal communication that is culturally responsive, ensuring consideration for differing needs and expectations.

  • Must be a resourceful, problem solving, relationship-building, seeker of excellence.
  • Possess a prideful work ethic and be a team player.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and vehicle insurance is required.
  • Own basic tools.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, bend and kneel for extended periods.
  • Ability to conduct property tours and inspections including but not limited to walking through hallways, stairwells, leasing offices, common areas, and vacant or occupied apartment homes.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work in varying external weather conditions.
  • Ability to quickly respond to sights and sounds that may pose a threat to persons or property.
  • Special Boiler's License (must be obtained within the first six months of employment)
  • Compensation range of $25-$28/hr depending on experience and skillset.
