About The Position

NinjaZone—a fusion of gymnastics, martial arts tricking, parkour, and obstacle training—is looking for energetic, inspiring coaches to lead the next generation of Ninjas! We welcome moms, dads, students, fitness enthusiasts, and movement lovers to apply. Whether you’re experienced in coaching or just have a love for fitness and working with kids, we provide training, mentorship, and certification to help you succeed. Requirements

  • Experience with kids (teaching, coaching, babysitting, mentoring, etc.)
  • A positive, high-energy personality
  • Passion for movement, fitness, or sports training
  • Commitment to the season; team
  • Availability on evenings & weekends
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb and/or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch
  • Must be physically able to lift and move 50 plus pounds.
  • Must have specific visual abilities with peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment and be able to determine closeness, distance and color.
  • Visual and auditory abilities to respond to critical incidents.
  • The physical ability to act swiftly and appropriately for medical and non-medical emergencies and administer CPR and first aid effectively

Nice To Haves

  • We’ve seen success from trickers, former tumblers, divers, military personnel, martial artists, and fitness enthusiasts. Personal trainers, aquatics instructors—but most importantly, from individuals who love working with kids and want to make an impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire young athletes in NinjaZone classes
  • Teach movement, agility, and strength-building skills in a structured, fun environment
  • Prepare athletes for seasonal showcases or competitions
  • Instill the core values of Focused Energy, Work Ethic, and Self-Responsibility as well as the Four Core Values of the YMCA (Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility)
  • Ensure safety and engagement while fostering confidence and progress
  • Reporting any suspicious behavior and violation of policy and procedures to your supervisor
  • Following all policies and procedures related to keeping children safe in our facilities and programs, including those related to the monitoring and supervision of children
  • Completing all child abuse prevention training as required
  • Reporting any items that may provide a health or safety hazard to staff, members or guests to your supervisor
