About The Position

The NIH Grant Manager at CRDF Global is responsible for managing high-profile and complex NIH grants, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and providing mentorship to Grant Officers. This role involves stakeholder management, financial monitoring, and supporting business development through grant statistics and proposal writing. The position requires a strong understanding of grant implementation principles and the ability to develop and evaluate compliance plans while maintaining relationships with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field; 5+ years in federal assistance programs.
  • Understanding of USG grants compliance laws such as 2 CFR 200, 2 CFR 700.
  • Demonstrated experience working on NIH-funded programs with domestic and foreign collaborators.
  • Proven customer service experience and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to utilize Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong critical thinking, analysis, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and adapt to new challenges.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering grant programs funded by NIH, USAID, State Dept, DTRA, and CDC.
  • Working knowledge of FLUXX and/or Deltek/Costpoint Purchasing module.
  • Experience in business development.
  • Project management skills, MS project experience.
  • Field-specific training or certifications.
  • Experience with USG contracts management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of assistance activities/grants with high and medium complexity.
  • Perform pre-award reviews and prepare implementation plans.
  • Issue and negotiate grant agreements, coordinating with stakeholders.
  • Ensure subgrantee compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Maintain agreement files and provide comprehensive financial monitoring.
  • Review and approve subgrantee payment requests and expense reconciliations.
  • Contribute to internal grants financials for annual forecasting and planning.
  • Provide input on monthly program reviews for CRDF Global Leadership.
  • Recommend and develop policy or procedural improvements for award administration.
  • Represent the Grants team in internal and external events and activities.
  • Lead solutioning and strategizing with stakeholders for complex grants.
  • Provide high-quality support to internal and external clients.
  • Serve as a key advisor for Grants Officers in grant program delivery.
  • Engage in contract management in alignment with grants and activities.
  • Support Business Development with proposal activities.
