The Student Affairs Program Coordinator assists the Assistant Director for Testing Services in managing accommodated exams at the Disability Resource Center. This role involves coordinating exam schedules and room assignments for accommodated testing, as well as addressing student testing concerns in the absence of the Assistant Director. The coordinator is responsible for assisting students, faculty, and staff in troubleshooting issues that arise with the testing management system and responding to inquiries regarding testing services through phone calls, emails, and in-person questions. In addition, the coordinator prepares exam materials according to student accommodations and instructor directions, creates alternative exam formats as needed, and ensures the timely receipt of exam materials to faculty members. They also scan and prepare exams for exit from the DRC and return them to instructors promptly. The coordinator ensures that all utilized testing spaces are closed each night and set up for operations for the next business day. The role includes assisting the Assistant Director with interviewing, hiring, training, and development of testing student assistants, serving as a resource for accommodated testing for students, faculty, staff, and service agencies. During peak times in the semester, the coordinator assists the DRC with assistive technology accommodation requests, including alternate format textbooks and other tools. They also serve on departmental committees and task forces, and perform other duties as assigned. The coordinator maintains a current knowledge base of federal and state laws, regulations, and rules governing the provision of services for persons with documented disabilities and their application within a post-secondary educational setting. They pursue self-directed learning on national trends and best practices in accessibility and accommodated testing.
