About The Position

The Night Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating overnight selection and loading operations to ensure products are accurately selected and trucks are properly staged and loaded for next-day delivery. This role facilitates training for new hires, reinforces safe work practices, and works closely with the Night Manager to support operational performance and workflow. The ideal candidate is certified to operate forklifts and material handling equipment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehouse distribution, order selection, and truck loading operations is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to provide training and direction effectively.
  • Ability to work night shifts consistently and adjust to varying start times as scheduled.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanning devices preferred.

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move throughout the warehouse during the shift.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate the night selection process to ensure orders are picked accurately and efficiently according to company standards.
  • Supervise truck loading activities, ensuring product is staged and loaded correctly for delivery routes with attention to accuracy, sequence, and safety.
  • Monitor workflow and adjust priorities during the shift to meet performance and productivity goals.
  • Ensure equipment (including forklifts and RF scanners) is used safely and properly, and report any malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.
  • Facilitate training for new hires on operational procedures, safety expectations, equipment operation, and workflow processes to support consistent performance.
  • Reinforce best practices with employees and provide coaching to help them meet performance, quality, and safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety by enforcing company and regulatory safety standards throughout the shift.
  • Conduct routine spot checks of work processes and equipment to ensure compliance with food distribution and warehouse safety guidelines.
  • Communicate operational issues, training needs, and performance feedback to the Night Manager in a timely manner.
  • Complete and submit shift reports, including productivity metrics, safety observations, and training updates.
