About The Position

Curtze Food Service in Bedford, PA, is seeking to hire a full-time Night Shift Warehouse Selector to join our growing team. Curtze Foodservice provides an array of restaurants and kitchens with quality food and other products. It is the Selector's responsibility to pick all orders that go out for delivery to our customers. This critical position guarantees that our customers receive accurate and timely deliveries. Wage: $22.95 per hour Shift: Sunday through Thursday, third shift with varying start times working until selecting and other duties are completed: Sunday: 11:00pm start time Monday and Tuesday: 9:00pm start time Wednesday and Thursday: 8:00 pm start time Shifts average 7 to 11 hours per night based upon the season. Always guaranteed 40 hours per week The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, lift heavy items, stand and walk for long periods of time, operate electric pallet jacks safely, and analyze and build secure pallets. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A WAREHOUSE SELECTOR: The warehouse selector will start the shift by organizing an electric pallet jack to begin the picking process. Once the pallet jack is prepared the selector receives a pick list and begins a pick route in the dry goods. The selector will continue to move along the route picking groceries according to to the pick list through dry groceries, cooler groceries, and lastly frozen groceries. Upon completion of the pick list, the selector will wrap and label the pallet. The pallet will then be added to a delivery truck and the selector will reorganize their pallet jack and start another pick list. This process continues until all orders have been completed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to meet the physical requirements of this position, including lifting up to 80 pounds, standing and walking throughout the entire shift, bending, twisting, and climbing
Ability to work on surfaces such as concrete, wood, or metal that are sometimes wet or slippery
Ability to work in varying temperatures
Ability to pass a pre-hire drug screen
Ability to understand the slot-sequencing layout of the warehouse and labeling system

Responsibilities

Independently and efficiently pick groceries using electric pallet jacks
Verify that all product picked matches the label
Build secure pallets that are in sequence with the delivery schedule
Label pallets correctly according to the delivery schedule
Load pallets onto the delivery trucks
Apply knowledge of driving, stocking, picking, and replenishing skills in maneuvering material handling equipment at varying speeds in difficult situations: such as heavy traffic, crowded conditions, wet or slippery floors, or high heights.
