The Night Stocker position is essential in ensuring that our grocery department runs smoothly during the night shift. This role involves unloading products, opening containers, stocking shelves, and rotating products as necessary to maintain inventory levels and ensure product freshness. The Night Stocker will work closely with the District Store Director, Store Manager, Assistant Managers, and the Night Stock Manager to uphold the high standards of customer service that Hy-Vee is known for. The primary duties of the Night Stocker include providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This involves greeting customers with a smile, assisting them in locating products, and ensuring that their shopping experience is pleasant and efficient. The Night Stocker is responsible for unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and organizing stock for maximum efficiency. They must also monitor for miss-picked items and ensure that all products are correctly tagged and rotated. Adherence to company policies regarding personal hygiene and dress is crucial, as is punctuality and reliability in reporting to work. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Night Stocker may assist in other areas of the store as needed and perform other job-related duties and special projects as required. This position requires a strong ability to solve practical problems, perform arithmetic calculations, and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent experience and possess the physical capability to perform very heavy work, including lifting and moving heavy objects. The working conditions may involve exposure to dirt, noise, and chemicals, and the use of various equipment such as power jacks and forklifts is required.
