Position Summary: The Night Shift Supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates the work within the production cell, and is responsible for the quality of all items produced in the cell. This position coordinates the allocation of night shift personnel and equipment with the cell to fulfill quality requirements and meet delivery deadlines. The Night Shift Supervisor also ensures all drawings, notes, work instructions, and literature are reviewed prior to each build and personnel manufacturing products follow all relevant documentation. While filling these responsibilities, this individual must work another job responsibility within the cell (i.e. Welder, Welding Coordinator, et al). Principle Responsibilities: Helping train, cross-train and develop night shift personnel Assigning tasks to cell employees Recognizing and recommending rewards for high performing employees Recognizing and correcting or reporting poor performing employees Managing compliance with safe manufacturing practices Encouraging and motivating coworkers to meet expectations Ensuring conformance with all established safety rules & procedures, reporting all accidents and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of work areas Preparing for and attending status meetings as required Recommending overtime as needed to meet scheduled completion dates Following and maintaining the schedule as established by Production Control Providing support and answering questions from personnel within the cell Following up on missing time sheets daily Managing for continuous improvement by eliminating waste as well as soliciting and helping implement cost reductions Recommending new equipment, supplies and materials Recommending design changes and improved manufacturing methods Performing all other duties as assigned by supervisor Qualifications/Experience: Unimpeachable ethics A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others The ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and priorities and easily adapt to changing situations The ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts Solid decision-making skills Relentless about continuous improvement A thorough knowledge of all manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment The ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently The ability to lift 50 lbs.
