The Quality Technician at Pregis LLC is responsible for ensuring the quality of products through rigorous testing and evaluation processes. This role involves collaborating with the Quality Manager to guide production personnel and maintain quality standards, contributing to the overall Quality Control Plan. The position operates on a night shift schedule and requires a proactive approach to quality assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  • Participate in, assist in, or help develop methods for testing and evaluation of processes.
  • Perform all required testing and report deviations as needed to appropriate parties for corrective actions and continuous improvement.
  • Compare results of inspections and tests to the company's quality standards, reporting results to the Quality Manager for final analysis and action steps.
  • Help report and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly tasks within the Quality Department and Extrusion department.
  • Evaluate data and place it into documents/spreadsheets in a logical fashion.
  • Test, inspect, and approve raw materials based on established quality specifications.
  • Perform auditing on incoming/receiving material, process/production, and outgoing parts.
  • Conduct assigned routine visual inspections and other specified tests on raw materials, goods in process, and finished products.
  • Use statistical methods to test product samples to evaluate the quality of full production batches before delivery to clients or customers.
  • Report daily Quality data/metrics/KPIs as needed.
  • Aid in the disposition of non-conforming material alongside the Extrusion manager/Quality manager.
  • Consult with the Quality Manager to determine appropriate recommendations and remedies for questionable products.
  • Test limits on machines and products to determine failure points.
  • Investigate, communicate, and aid in the resolution of customer complaints.
  • Maintain accurate records in the quality database.
  • Maintain gage calibrations and associated records.
  • Perform testing on product samples and report data in a logical fashion.
  • Perform work-related audits accordingly.
  • Coach and help train team members on Quality related issues as they arise.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a Science-related field preferred.
  • Experience with quality in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to delegate, plan, and schedule accordingly.
  • Ability to read a ruler, scale, and micrometer.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on quality.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, including basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent data and computer skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
