About The Position

The Hotel Night Manager oversees the nightly operations of the hotel, ensuring the safety, security, and comfort of guests. This role includes managing the front desk team, handling guest complaints, coordinating with other departments, and ensuring that all operational tasks are completed. The Night Manager ensures the smooth running of the hotel, managing financial transactions, and providing exceptional guest service during the night shift.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in hotel management, front desk operations, or customer service roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in hotel management software LMS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of hotel operations, security protocols, and guest services.
  • Ability to work long hours, including overnight shifts, and handle the physical demands of the job (standing, walking, lifting).

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests during check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Resolve guest complaints and issues efficiently and courteously.
  • Ensure all special guest requests are met, and provide personalized service as needed.
  • Supervise front desk personnel and night shift staff, ensuring excellent performance and adherence to hotel policies.
  • Provide guidance and training for night shift employees to maintain a high level of guest service.
  • Handle disciplinary issues if necessary and report any staff concerns to the Hotel Director
  • Ensure the security and safety of all hotel guests and staff members during the night shift.
  • Monitor and respond to any security incidents, emergency situations, or accidents that may arise in conjunction with the security department.
  • Oversee nightly audit procedures, including reconciling guest accounts, processing payments, and preparing reports for management.
  • Complete daily revenue reports, cash reconciliation, and other financial duties.
  • Ensure proper documentation of night shift activities, guest issues, and incidents.
  • Maintain effective communication with the Hotel Manager, housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address any issues or requests.
  • Report any problems or operational concerns that need attention during the day shift.
  • Monitor and ensure smooth operations of the hotel during non-peak hours.
  • Coordinate with maintenance and housekeeping teams to address any immediate issues or repairs.
  • Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of hotel rooms and facilities.
