About The Position

Oversee and execute cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure that the building, grounds, and equipment adhere to high health and safety standards. Manage a team of custodians, providing supervision and support to ensure efficient operations. Assist the Principal, Athletic Director, and other staff as needed to support school functions, manage rental activities, and facilitate building setups.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or equivalent.
  • One (1) to three (3) years job related experience.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical units
  • Valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Valid CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability in response to change.
  • Possesses computer and technology skills.
  • Effectively works with students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Collaborates well with supervisors and co-workers.
  • Capable of understanding and following both complex oral and written instructions.
  • Able to perform duties independently with minimal supervision.
  • Communicates effectively with the School District community.
  • Skilled in analysis, instruction, negotiation, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal interactions.
  • Proficient in comparing, computing, synthesizing, and evaluating information.
  • Meets attendance standards and works the necessary hours to fulfill essential responsibilities.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Upholds a generally positive attitude.
  • Complies with all District policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to federal and state laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 (fifty) pounds at a time, moving equipment, furniture, and other related materials.
  • Frequent lifting/moving up to 100 (one hundred) pounds.
  • Occasional lifting/moving over 100 (one hundred) pounds.
  • Frequent and repetitive bending, squatting, standing, reaching, walking, stooping, crawling, climbing, balancing, and kneeling.
  • Occasional sitting.
  • Vision required: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus.
  • Required to walk, use hands to finger, feel or handle; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear; and smell.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (preferred).
  • Three (3) years demonstrated supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure school is appropriately cleaned
  • Close the building and Stadium.
  • Check heating, doors, bathroom facilities and remove snow/ice from sidewalks and stairways.
  • Perform cleaning as required.
  • Supervise other custodians and temporary help, including organizing and directing summer and non-contract cleaning and maintenance of building and grounds, special projects, personnel management and training.
  • Set up for special meetings, rentals in gym, library, etc.
  • Interact with public, district, students and building staff regarding rules of the grounds, gym and auditorium to ensure public safety and safeguard interest of the school district.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Supervise, schedule, direct, train or assign training, evaluate and provide feedback to custodial employees.
  • Address complaints and perform disciplinary action, when necessary.
  • Prioritize and schedule work tasks independently.
  • Create and implement effective and efficient process management strategies (e.g., procedures, equipment, materials, and supplies).
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with professional standards, state guidelines, and school system policy.
