About The Position

The Night Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating fuel delivery operations for Explorer’s Transportation Services. This role monitors store inventory levels, plans and routes fuel loads, oversees driver activity, and ensures timely, accurate deliveries across all assigned locations. This position requires strong organizational skills, decisive problem-solving, and a high sense of urgency. The Night Dispatcher plays a critical role in maintaining operational continuity and preventing store outages.

Willingness to work rotating on-call schedule
Availability to work Monday–Friday, 6PM–4AM (45+ hours per week)

Responsibilities

Load Planning & Inventory Management
Monitor inventory levels using Axis and/or MMOF systems.
Identify stores requiring deliveries and proactively plan loads.
Ensure “off” products remain sufficient until next scheduled regular deliveries.
Process load requests submitted through Clipper Link.
Process customer call-in load requests.
Routing & Dispatch Operations
Route trucks efficiently based on: Delivery destination Traffic conditions Driver start times Next load pull point Store-specific needs including volume levels and delivery limitations
Adjust routes in real-time to address urgent needs or operational changes.
Prioritize same-day and ASAP loads due to price changes or sales increases.
Driver & Delivery Oversight
Monitor drivers throughout assigned shifts to ensure deliveries are completed on time.
Provide drivers with accurate and complete site and load information.
Communicate delays, issues, or changes clearly and proactively.
Address problems with loads, sites, or equipment as they arise.
Operational Support
Maintain clear communication with the Clipper team regarding inventory concerns, delivery issues, and operational risks.
Support day shift operations as needed.
Ability to flex to day shift coverage during vacation periods.
