About The Position

The Night Desk Clerk is responsible for overseeing the night operations of the property, ensuring that front desk operations run smoothly and that all guest services meet established standards. This role involves financial reconciliation, maintaining guest confidentiality, and ensuring a safe environment for both guests and team members. The Night Desk Clerk will also address guest concerns, communicate with various departments, and maintain cleanliness and organization in the front office area.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of hospitality experience required.
  • 2 years of hotel or clerk experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous experience in cash handling and computerized Point of Sale system strongly preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required; bilingual skills preferred (English/Spanish).
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to understand and apply labor and industry-specific laws and regulations.
  • Ability to park and retrieve guest vehicles.
  • Ability to secure property by walking up and down halls to ensure doors are locked.
  • Basic negotiation skills and strong customer relations skills required.
  • Strong computer skills, with full knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day night operations of the property, including front desk operations and financial reconciliation.
  • Ensure all front office activities meet or exceed established standards and goals.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all guest information and hotel data.
  • Assist guests, team members, and vendors during shifts.
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and team members.
  • Report security concerns and problematic situations to the General Manager or appropriate party.
  • Respond to and resolve guest issues and concerns as necessary.
  • Evaluate patterns in guest concerns to implement corrective actions.
  • Communicate regularly with all departments to keep staff informed of updates and changes.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the front office, reception area, lobby, and storage areas.
  • Maintain and ensure proper functioning of all equipment used in operations.
  • Conduct routine property walks to monitor guest safety and security.
