About The Position

The Night Custodian is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in the school facilities during the night shift from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. This position is classified as non-exempt and requires a high school diploma or GED. The custodian will perform various cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for students and staff.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to recognize equipment malfunction.
• Ability to follow written and verbal direction effectively.
• Ability to work modified assignments as necessary.
• Adhere to District's Policies and Procedures.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, dusts, vacuums, empties trash/recycle bins and pencil sharpeners, arranges furniture, and cleans white boards.
• Washes walls, floors, woodwork, and windows; cleans and polishes metal surfaces.
• Cleans, sanitizes, and deodorizes restrooms and locker rooms.
• Sets up furniture and/or equipment for activities.
• Delivers and moves supplies, equipment, and furniture; assembling when necessary.
• Observes and reports repair needs of fixtures, furnishings, and equipment.
• Performs minor repairs.
• Responsible for the locking/securing of building assigned when vacant.
• Follows safety procedures.
• Promotes a positive image of the West Central School District.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
