About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Department Operations Plan nightly operations and monitor production processes following company procedures and profitability goals. Build grocery displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed; maintain clean and properly stocked shelves. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Monitor employee productivity. Maintain specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening/closing duties, dairy, and frozen sections. Understand and implement emergency procedures in case of equipment or software malfunctions. Team Leadership Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Ensure compliance with company grooming standards and dress code. Promote honesty, integrity, and accuracy in all job duties. Inventory & Merchandising Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain levels per division directives. Stock and rotate product; maintain orderly and in-stock conditions in back room and all grocery areas. Supervise processing of all reclamation. Ensure proper code dating for all products. Implement correct product preparation techniques. Build displays and ensure compliance with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, company policies, and code dating requirements. Equipment & Safety Use and operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work area, cooler, equipment, and display areas. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Reporting & Compliance Accurately complete, maintain, and monitor daily log sheets, sales and labor reports, and other required paperwork. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Control shrink and cost. Assist with physical inventory every 6 months. May operate computer software and electronic ordering devices to order product. Additional Responsibilities Ensure proper temperature levels for products are maintained. Responsible for performing all job duties safely, accurately, and with integrity. Other necessary and required duties as assigned.
