About The Position

Description Duties and Responsibilities Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via: Telephone In-store intercom announcements One-on-one customer interactions Answer and respond to incoming calls appropriately; resolve customer complaints and escalate to Store Director as needed. Operations & Merchandising Assist with planning nightly operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Build grocery displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays; assist with coordinating grocery sales promotions. Ensure merchandise is correctly priced and displayed; maintain clean and organized shelves. Follow and maintain department standards and requirements. Employee Supervision & Training Monitor employee productivity. Possess specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening/closing procedures, dairy, and frozen sections. Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees in store policies, sales techniques, and record-keeping procedures. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Comply with retail labeling laws, federal and state regulations, and company policies. Inventory & Stock Control Assist with physical inventory every 6 months. Control inventory to ensure adequate quantity, quality, and freshness; maintain levels per division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain orderly conditions in backroom and grocery areas. Supervise reclamation processing. Shrink & Cost Management Control shrink and manage costs effectively. Equipment & Safety Implement correct product preparation techniques; operate related equipment such as: Pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, Sterilox machine Ensure proper temperature levels for products during storage and display. Comply with all workplace safety rules and regulations. Receiving & Administrative Duties Perform receiving duties including: Breaking down loads Verifying orders using invoices Inspecting quality and reporting shortages Stocking and rotating products Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines; follow proper packaging techniques. Process administrative paperwork and maintain accurate department records. Complete and monitor daily log sheets, sales and labor reports, and other required documentation.
