The Night Crew Lead exemplifies and ensures strong customer service in all areas of the job, providing a superior quality product that exceeds customer expectations. The role requires a working knowledge of department functions and maintaining an adequate amount of fresh inventory.

Requirements

• Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to frequently reach, lift, and maneuver objects up to approximately 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.
• Must have knowledge of product variety, standards, perishability, product handling, sanitation, labeling, and department policies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service.
• Assists customers by making product suggestions.
• Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements, and one-on-one customer interaction.
• Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately and resolves customer complaints.
• Assists with planning nightly operations and monitoring production processes.
• Builds Grocery displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product.
• Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays.
• Ensures that merchandise is correctly priced and displayed.
• Monitors employee productivity and supervises, trains, and assigns duties to department employees.
• Responsible for ensuring proper code dating for all products within the department.
• Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness.
• Supervises the processing of all reclamation and maintains orderly conditions in back room and Grocery Department areas.
• Implements correct product preparation techniques and operates related equipment.
• Performs receiving duties including verifying orders and inspecting quality.
• Completes and monitors daily log sheets, sales, and labor paperwork.
• Ensures compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations.
