About The Position

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa, a Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portland’s Old Port District, is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Night Auditor to join our overnight team. This position combines guest service responsibilities with nightly accounting and audit functions to ensure accurate daily financial reporting and exceptional guest experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous hotel front desk, guest service, or accounting experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage overnight responsibilities
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Basic math and computer proficiency required
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to use computers and standard office equipment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with hotel property management systems (Opera preferred) and Microsoft Office is a plus
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional, courteous service to all guests
  • Check guests in and out efficiently
  • Respond to guest requests, concerns, and inquiries
  • Answer phones and assist with overnight reservations
  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk and lobby area
  • Assist with guest needs and coordinate with overnight security when necessary
  • Reconcile daily financial transactions from all departments
  • Post room charges and balance guest accounts
  • Balance and process credit card batches
  • Prepare and distribute daily revenue and audit reports to management
  • Maintain accurate records and organized audit documentation
  • Run required system reports and support accounting processes
  • Communicate important updates and activity to morning staff
  • Assist with basic administrative and operational tasks
  • Support overnight hotel safety and security procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas
