The Night Auditor plays a critical role in ensuring both exceptional guest service and the accuracy of the hotel’s financial operations during overnight hours. This position combines front desk responsibilities with accounting functions, supporting a seamless guest experience while completing nightly financial reporting and audit processes.

Requirements

Prior experience in hotel front desk, night audit, or hospitality operations preferred
Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
Experience with hotel property management systems preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently and manage overnight responsibilities
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Professional, calm, and service-oriented demeanor

Responsibilities

Provide front desk service including guest check-in, check-out, and handling overnight inquiries
Complete nightly audit procedures including balancing room revenue, reconciling accounts, and closing the day in the property management system
Review and verify accuracy of financial transactions, postings, and reports
Prepare and distribute daily financial and operational reports
Monitor hotel activity during overnight hours and ensure guest safety and satisfaction
Respond to guest requests and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
Maintain accurate records and documentation of overnight activity
Coordinate with security and other departments as needed
Prepare the front office for the morning shift
