I just completed a lengthy and arduous day of travel, perhaps a 500-mile drive on snow packed roads, or perhaps multiple airports, TSA screenings and an unfriendly rental car agency. Can you welcome me to your city and your hotel? Does this sound like you? Do you like to help people? Have you ever created memorable experiences for other people? The 243-room full-service Crowne Plaza Minneapolis West , with nearly 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space, is located in the western Minneapolis suburb of Plymouth, MN, and we are seeking fun, sharp, creative and memorable brand ambassadors to serve as welcoming Guest Services Agents/Night Auditors . Role and Responsibilities: The Guest Services Agent provides that "great first impression" for our guests. Multi-tasking must come naturally to you. Greet guests upon arrival, process hotel check-in and check-out, assist guests with any questions or concerns during their hotel stay, answer busy phone lines, create and update reservations, and receive payments. Guest Services must be knowledgeable of hotel accommodations and services as well as the surrounding area attractions, act as main contact for guest inquiries and will maintain a good working relationship with other hotel departments to make sure all guest needs are met. The Night Auditor works the overnight welcome desk shift, and performs closing day functions while preparing the front office for the upcoming new day. Essential Functions: Completes the “night audit” efficiently and accurately. Accurately logs all wake-up call requests. Greet callers in a courteous and friendly manner. Records all information accurately and completely for reservations. Has a thorough understanding of rates. Confirms guest reservations. Performs all guests accounting functions according to hotel standards when posting transactions and balancing an audit. Registers guests accurately and efficiently. In addition, establishes proper credit, according to hotel policy. Processes check outs, listening and responding to guest positive and negative comments. Accurately takes guest and office messages. Record guest requests and problems. Reports work orders to maintenance. Follows all emergency procedures as trained. Posts room charges to guest accounts. Processes guest charge vouchers and credit card vouchers. Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities. Summarizes results of operations for management. Understands principles of auditing, balancing, and closing out accounts. Skilled in operating computers and other front office equipment.
