About The Position

The Night Auditor is responsible for managing the end-of-day activities at the hotel, ensuring accurate financial reporting and guest services during the overnight shift. This role involves processing payments, managing guest check-ins and check-outs, and maintaining the security of the cash drawer. The Night Auditor also plays a key role in providing excellent customer service and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED certificate.
  • Less than 1 year of related work experience.
  • No supervisory experience required.
  • No specific license or certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Record charges to accounts at the end of the day.
  • Execute the night audit backup and change the date.
  • Process all types of payments including cash, checks, and credit/debit cards.
  • Handle adjustment vouchers, disbursements, and miscellaneous charges.
  • Print emergency lists to keep a record of all guests.
  • Sell rooms to walk-in guests based on availability.
  • Manage the central telephone terminal and process wake-up call requests.
  • Complete the 'Room Rate Variance Report'.
  • Process guest check-ins and assign rooms.
  • Activate or issue new room keys using the electronic key machine.
  • Balance the cash drawer at the end of the shift and secure it.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Greet and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs with genuine appreciation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with others and answer phones appropriately.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive working relationships with others.
  • Support the team in achieving common goals.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Move, lift, transport, push, pull, and place objects weighing 10 pounds or less without assistance.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.
