This position is responsible for completing end-of-day activities, including posting charges, running night audit backup, and rolling the date. The role involves processing various payment types (room charges, cash, checks, debit, credit), adjustment vouchers, paid-outs, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges. Key duties also include printing contingency lists, selling rooms to guests without reservations based on availability, operating the telephone switchboard, processing wake-up calls, advising guests of messages, and completing the Room Rate Variance Report. The Night Auditor processes guest check-ins, assigns rooms, activates/reissues room keys, counts and secures the bank at the end of the shift, and balances/drops receipts according to Accounting specifications. Maintaining clean and presentable work areas is also required. The role also involves reporting accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions, adhering to company policies and procedures, maintaining a professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and protecting company assets. Guest interaction is a significant part of the role, requiring welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests.
