About The Position

The night auditor is the number one, front line person whose service determines a guest's experience. Checks front office accounting records for accuracy and on a daily basis, summarizes and compiles information for the hotel's financial records. Tracks room revenue, occupancy percentages, and other front office operating statistics. Prepares a summary of cash, check, and credit card activities, reflecting the hotel's financial performance for the day. Posts room charges and room taxes to guest accounts including guest transactions not posted during the day by the front office team.

Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace.
  • Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
  • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Thorough knowledge of computer processing system and ability to manually perform these operations if necessary.
  • Knowledge of computer accounting programs, math skills as well as budgetary analysis capabilities required.
  • Must be able to handle a high workload volume with organization and control.
  • Ability to solve problems and make rational decision.
  • Ability to prepare and analyze data, figures and transcriptions prepared on and generated by computer.
  • May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the reservation process; welcoming guests and getting them checked into their rooms.
  • Respond to guests' requests; and coordinate with other hotel workers to handle necessary end-of-day tasks.
  • Accounting duties include taking payments, reconciling accounts, running end-of-day reports in property management system.
  • Spends their shift standing at the front desk, walking around to rooms and sometimes lifting items.
  • Responsible for the overall operations and appearance of the front desk of the hotel.
  • Responsible for attending to the needs of guests, especially during check-in and check-out.
  • Assist with driving valet cars around, for security team to park.
