About The Position

Night Audit is responsible for the overnight operations of the Hotel, verifying the accuracy of guest accounts, balancing charges and revenues and assisting with all aspects of guest services. Due to the nature of this position, confidentiality is required at all times. Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned at the discretion of the front office manager

Requirements

  • Prior work experience as a night audit or front desk agent preferred.
  • College degree in a hospitality related field preferred but not required.
  • Additional related certifications preferred but not required.
  • Hands-on experience with office machines (computers, fax, printers, etc.)
  • Thorough knowledge of customer service, multitasking, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Command of the English language (oral and written), second language helpful, customer service and problem resolution oriented
  • Basic knowledge of computer use required, knowledge of Microsoft Office use required, SMS host experience helpful
  • Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Must have ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and balance front desk systems
  • Post room charges
  • Ensure proper cash handling
  • Write and drop deposits
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports
  • Perform check-ins, property orientations, check-outs
  • Address billing inquiries and manipulation
  • Receive and handle guest complaints using the PRL (prompt response log) and GPR (guest problem resolution) systems
  • Complete appropriate opening and closing checklists
  • Receive and relay pertinent information from previous night to following shifts
  • Consistently analyze guest information and proactively ensure accuracy of billing
  • Learn and understand information about events on property, hours of operation for each Old Edwards property, and transportation schedules
  • Be familiar and knowledgeable with the town of Highlands and being able to assist guests with recommendations, general knowledge and reservations
