About The Position

The NICU Respiratory Therapist RRT CRTT PRN position at TriStar Centennial Medical Center involves providing high-quality, patient-centered respiratory care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. This role is essential for monitoring and managing patients requiring respiratory support, ensuring their well-being through various diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Requirements

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy
• STABLE certification (to be obtained within 60 months of employment)
• Neonate Resuscitation certification (to be obtained within 60 months of employment)

Responsibilities

• Perform and document patient assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure.
• Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy.
• Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosol medication delivery, and chest physiotherapy.
• Assist with the placement of artificial airways.
• Initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanical ventilation.
• Monitor patients for therapeutic response and notify providers of any unintended responses.
• Assist with the transportation of ventilator-dependent patients.
• Respond to emergent patient situations, ensuring airway integrity and adequate ventilation during resuscitation.
