This includes human milk feedings (mother's own milk and pasteurized donor human milk (PDHM)) as well as ready to feed formula. Preparation techniques must adhere to all sanitary regulations and standards established by regulating agencies and the health care facility, which should include compliance with policies related to the institution's HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Plan for Human Milk Handling) plan for enteral feedings. Will use a bar-coded safety system throughout the handling of mother's own milk and PDHM. Assists with the training of ancillary personnel as necessary.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required or relevant experience
  • Demonstrates basic computer skills
  • Analytical skill to resolve problems that require use of basic scientific, mathematical or technical principles
  • Ability to respond to simple written or verbal instruction.
  • Formula/ Human Milk Technician Certification from accredited program within twelve months of hire preferred
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/National Safety Council required
  • Provides care appropriate to patient population and as described in applicable policies and procedures
