About The Position

GDIT is seeking a Tester to support the National Institute of Health (NIH), National Heart Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI). The Tester will help our team develop a new system to making it easier for researchers to find, access and use heart, blood, lung, and sleep data. This role requires an understanding of how validate the functional and non-functional requirements of a system. The Tester will have a strong understanding of test automation and using Agile methodologies to enable teams to create compelling software systems. HOW AN IT QUALITY ASSURANCE TESTER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT: Working across the software life-cycle, with an emphasis on testing focusing on a new scientific application that searches for data in large datasets which include biological, genomic and/or proteomic data. Working collaboratively with the team to best realize system solution. Specifying and executing tests to validate the system behavior for both user interfaces (single-page web applications) and API’s Creating automated tests. Engaging with other team members to align the tests to the system requirements. Engaging with other system owners and stakeholder to facilitate collaboration. Collaborating with other team members to enable the teams to advance all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, and Testing). Collaborating with the team on Agile activities, including estimation, iterative planning and retrospectives. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent). 7+ years of relevant experience. Experience testing software systems. Experience with test automation. Experience working in an Agile software development environment. Experience with Selenium-based test frameworks. Experience using test specification as a requirements tool. DESIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Prior experience with the NHLBI BioData Catalyst environment; active NIH badge is a plus. Experience working in the biomedical research domain. The likely salary range for this position is $97,968 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
