About The Position

The Licensed Practical Nurse performs responsibilities that are supportive and/or restorative under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse. Provides nursing care to an assigned group of patients, and administers medications and/or treatments upon demonstration of ability in accordance with policy of the Hospital.

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited nursing program(s)
• Demonstrates competence and experience in nursing within the limits of preparation and legal scope of practice
• Licensed and currently registered as a Practical Nurse in NYS

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care
• Performs tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Registered Nurse as related to hygiene and physical comfort
• Medical treatments and selected nursing interventions
• Nutritional needs
• Ambulation and exercise
• Elimination
• Patient safety
• Administers medication as assigned
• Performs CPR
• Takes vitals
• Transports patients
• Prepares patients for tests and procedures
