About The Position

The Head Softball Coach is responsible for overseeing the softball program at the school level. This includes ensuring that all coaching staff complete necessary training and certifications as mandated by state law and the TSSAA/TMSAA. Coaches must maintain up-to-date records of their certifications, including the NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching', 'First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches', and other relevant courses. The Head Coach will also ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including concussion and sudden cardiac arrest protocols.

Responsibilities

• Complete the NFHS 'Fundamentals of Coaching' and 'First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches' courses prior to assuming the position.
• Maintain copies of concussion and sudden cardiac arrest certificates on file every year.
• Ensure completion of the 'NFHS Heat Illness Prevention' course when applicable.
• Ensure all coaches complete the NFHS COVID-19 Course.
• Oversee the softball program and ensure compliance with TSSAA/TMSAA regulations.
