About The Position

Elmbrook Church is a non-denominational, intergenerational, multi-site church excited about the life change possible in Christ. Elmbrook’s mission is to help members become Rooted in Jesus Christ and Released to His mission. The Next Steps Coordinator (Lake Country Campus) supports the Discipleship team staff and volunteer leaders by helping individuals and families take meaningful next steps in their faith journey. This includes supporting Guest Experience (First Impressions), discipleship groups, and key next step environments such as Membership and Baptism. This individual will serve as a member of the Lake Country Staff Team, contributing to the overall health, culture, and mission of the campus, and will also serve on the Adult Ministries Team to ensure alignment and continuity across ministries. The Next Steps Coordinator manages communication, logistics, and systems that help people move from first connection to deeper engagement in the life of the church—ensuring a warm, clear, and intentional pathway into community and discipleship.

  • Demonstrates a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a deep love for God’s word.
  • Active participant or member of Elmbrook church who supports and endorses the statement of faith, core values, and vision.
  • Embodies a servant-hearted attitude, consistently upholding Elmbrook's staff values of integrity and humility in all interactions and responsibilities.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment and coordinate with multiple departments.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to quickly learn and master new software applications and digital tools as needed for church operations and communication.
  • Experience in church ministry, administration, guest services, or communication management preferred.
  • This role requires both a heart for ministry and strong organizational and administrative skills.

Responsibilities

  • Discipleship Culture: Actively supports and reinforces Elmbrook's vision of equipping disciples who make disciples by championing clear next steps for individuals and families. Helps create a culture where people are consistently invited to Abide, Belong, Contribute, and Disciple.
  • First Impressions / Guest Experience Leadership: Leads and oversees Guest Experience environments, ensuring they are warm, welcoming, and well-coordinated from the moment someone arrives. Recruits, equips, and supports volunteer teams to create a consistent and meaningful first impression.
  • Next Steps Environments: Owns the execution of key next step environments, including Membership Classes, Baptism processes, and connection opportunities.
  • Discipleship Groups Support (in partnership with central leadership): Supports the growth and health of Adult Discipleship groups, including men’s and women’s ministries. Partners with central Discipleship leadership to implement group strategies while helping contextualize them for the local environment.
  • Assimilation & Pathway Clarity: Helps create and maintain clear, simple pathways for individuals and families to move from first visit to deeper engagement. Ensures consistent follow-up and connection for guests and attendees.
  • Communication Management (in collaboration with central teams): Coordinates and executes communication related to Guest Experience and next steps, including website updates, emails, and print materials. Collaborates with central Communications and Design teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Event & Logistics Coordination: Leads logistical coordination for next steps and discipleship-related events, working closely with Building Services, Administration, and Production teams, as well as central support where appropriate.
  • Data & Systems Management: Maintains accurate records of guest engagement, next steps participation (membership, baptism, groups), and volunteer teams. Utilizes central systems to support consistent tracking and follow-up.
  • Volunteer Leadership & Development: Recruits, equips, and encourages volunteer leaders within Guest Experience and Next Steps ministries. Builds a healthy, engaged, and growing volunteer culture.
  • Communication Liaison: Serves as a key point of connection between staff, central ministry teams, volunteer leaders, and participants—ensuring clarity, alignment, and strong communication flow.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Works closely with ministry and support teams (Communications, Design, Discipleship, Building Services, Administration, Production) to ensure seamless ministry execution.
  • Serves on Ministry Teams: Actively participates as a member of the Lake Country Staff Team and Adult Ministry Team, contributing to planning, alignment, and overall ministry effectiveness.

Benefits

  • Paid Time Off (PTO) – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible to earn PTO. PTO is accrued on a calendar year basis. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
  • 403b – Employees are eligible to participate in the 403b pension plan if they are scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week. Entry dates for the 403b plan are the first of the month following the date of hire. On an employee’s first anniversary, Elmbrook will match up to 3%.
  • Holidays – Part-time employees who are scheduled to work more than 10 hours per week are eligible for holiday pay if the holiday falls on their normal scheduled workday. Refer to the Staff Handbook for specific details.
