About The Position

A Next Step Project Manager is grounded in partnership, accountability, and impact. Project Managers collaborate closely with clinic- and school-based Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to reduce barriers to AAC funding and ensure individuals with communication needs receive timely access to QuickTalker Freestyle devices. Through structured project management, thoughtful guidance, and consistent engagement, Project Managers empower SLPs to organize complex caseloads, confidently build their funding experience, and establish long-term independence in using AAC as a tool. This role values ownership of outcomes, a commitment to service excellence, and a belief that sustainable success is achieved by equipping professionals with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to serve their clients effectively. The Next Step Project Management team is a nationally distributed group of highly skilled and organized SLPs, SLP-As, and AAC experts who consistently demonstrate the value of AbleNet’s solutions and reinforce the organization’s position as a preferred partner in AAC funding services. The program’s primary objective is to strengthen SLPs’ confidence and expedite the use of AbleNet’s AAC funding process, enabling them to achieve long-term independence and sustained success, with AbleNet serving as a trusted resource. Next Step Project Managers are responsible for driving outcomes that improve the volume and velocity of benefit check submissions, ensuring that SLPs become independent in efficiently accessing the ableEXPERIENCE for all the individuals they serve.

  • Proficiency with MS Office, CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce), and virtual presentation tools (e.g. Zoom).
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2+ years of experience in a clinical or school setting, working with individuals using AAC.
  • Knowledge and experience in funding speech devices is required, experience with AbleNet’s funding services and project management is preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree and certification in Speech-Language Pathology preferred
  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology assistant will be considered, with additional experience in the field
  • Knowledge and experience in funding speech devices is required, experience with AbleNet’s funding services and project management is preferred.
  • Bilingual communication fluency, both written and verbal, is a plus.
