About The Position

Apply next generation sequencing techniques in a laboratory setting to perform complex molecular profiling of patient specimens to assist with prognostic and treatment decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences
• 7 years Experience in NGS-based assays
• Equivalent combination of advanced education (M.S., Ph.D or M.D.) and related experience may be substituted in lieu of stated required years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical grade next generation sequencing ("NGS"), including complex molecular profiling, for patients with solid tumors and hematological malignancies to identify mutations that will assist with treatment decisions.
• Perform testing as described in approved SOPs, to include nucleic acid isolation and subsequent Quality Control, NGS library prep, target enrichment and sequencing.
• Enter test results into appropriate clinical and patient records using laboratory information management system (LIMS), and/or electronic medical records systems (EMR).
• Adhere to Quality Control SOPs to assure the accuracy of all tests performed in the lab.
• Work with laboratory supervisor to review procedures and work assignments, and identify opportunities for improved accuracy and efficiencies.
• Assist with design, assessment, and validation of new clinical NGS based assays and SOP development.
• Participate in laboratory Proficiency Testing Programs and external inspections as required.
• Monitor laboratory inventory to ensure adequate levels of all reagents and supplies.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
