The Next Gen Coordinator plays a vital support role within the Next Gen Department, assisting with week-to-week planning, administration, communication, and events for our Students, Kids, and Young Adults ministries. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping the next generation grow in their faith. Job Classification: Part-Time Non-Exempt (29 hours) 12 hours – Student Ministry 12 hours – Kids Ministry 5 hours – Young Adults Reports to: Next Gen Pastor (Journey Kids Director until Next Gen Pastor is hired) Key Responsibilities and Duties: Student Ministry (12 hours/week) Managing weekly student ministry administrative workflows. Assisting with communication to students, parents, and volunteers. Supporting the team with camp preparation, including registration tracking, payment collection, forms, and logistics. Maintaining supply organization and assisting with event setup as needed. Helps lead the adult volunteers in the season of transition. Kids Ministry (12 hours/week) – Assist in coordinating weekly and seasonal Kids Ministry needs including: Supporting event planning and preparation, such as Baby Dedication, Summer Jam, and promotion Sunday. Coordinating with volunteers regarding schedules, communication, and weekly roles. Helping plan and execute ministry-specific projects and family engagement events. Young Adults Ministry (5 hours/week) – Support the Young Adults Mnistry by helping oversee the execution of weekly programming including: Coordinating logistics for scheduled Young Adult gatherings. Assisting with communication, hospitality, attendance tracking, and event setup. Supporting the Young Adults team with administrative or planning needs as assigned. Spiritual and Professional Qualifications: Strong organizational and administrative skills. Ability to multitask across several ministry areas with attention to detail. A team player who communicates clearly and works collaboratively with staff and volunteers. Comfortable with scheduling tools, church databases, and basic office software. A growing relationship with Jesus and alignment with the mission and values of the church. Active member of Journey Christian Church. Work Expectations: 29 hours per week Present Wednesday evenings for high school ministry to serve as a staff contact for leaders. Present Tuesday evenings for young adult ministry to serve as a staff contact for the ministry. Active participation in the life and mission of the church.
