About The Position

The Sales Associate at NEX Oceana is responsible for selling general merchandise and providing exceptional customer service in a Food and Beverage Convenience Bar setting. This role involves engaging with customers, assisting them in product selection, and ensuring the smooth operation of the Convenience Bar, including stocking, cleaning, and cash register transactions. The Sales Associate works as part of a team to meet sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Greets and engages customers in conversation for sales assistance.
• Assists customers in selecting merchandise and suggests complementary items.
• Offers customers extended product warranties and explains benefits and pricing.
• Interacts with customers and coworkers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Becomes knowledgeable about merchandise, including setup, use, care, and warranty coverage.
• Ensures assigned areas are fully stocked and merchandise is neatly arranged.
• Communicates with supervisors regarding stock and customer preferences.
• Participates in department meetings to discuss customer service improvements and sales goals.
• Completes sales transactions efficiently and thanks customers for their patronage.
• Performs various cash register transactions accurately and procedurally correct.
• Advises customers of upcoming sales events and available services.
• Offers customers the opportunity to open a NEXCARD account and informs them of its benefits.
• Handles customer returns and problems tactfully and efficiently.
• Maintains awareness in assigned areas to deter theft and provide excellent service.
• Unpacks, stages, and moves merchandise as assigned.
• Assists in creating store displays and performing periodic inventories.
• Completes paperwork associated with merchandise movement and cash register operation accurately.
• Participates in commission and gainsharing sales incentive programs.
• Lifts up to 25 lbs. as required for job duties, including stocking and assisting customers.
• Opens and closes the Food and Beverage Convenience Bar as needed.
• Ensures all equipment is operational during opening and closing.
• Preheats and displays products in the heated display merchandiser.
• Replenishes products and condiments required in the beverage bar.
• Monitors refrigerator and freezer temperatures at least three times daily.
