About The Position

The Wenatchee World is looking for a full-time general assignment reporter to cover business and industry news in a four-county area of North Central Washington. The role involves developing sources, reporting on new businesses, and covering trends and legislation affecting local industries. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to various platforms, including magazines and a local TV station, providing a wide reach and valuable learning experiences.

Requirements

• A journalism degree or relevant journalism experience.
• Experience in multimedia storytelling is preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus.
• Photo/video skills are a big plus.
• Understanding of journalistic ethics.
• Knowledge of AP style and the ability to produce clean copy.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Developing sources and establishing relationships with local business owners and industry leaders.
• Reporting on new businesses, including new ownership or expansion.

• Completing other story assignments as required.
