About The Position
WDTV is seeking a passionate, community-driven individual to be our newest Reporter/MMJ. The candidate should have strong knowledge of video shooting & editing skills, leadership qualities, and the ability to multitask. The right candidate will be able to find the best way to tell stories & find new, creative ways to showcase them.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate effectively with newsroom managers, producers & co-workers
- Have a strong background in shooting video & editing
- Strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of journalism ethics & legal issues
- Ability to meet news deadlines
- Strong organizational skills & possess the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Must possess a valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Responsibilities
- Shoot & edit video for news/webcasts daily
- Interview news subjects for facts and credibility
- Join fellow MMJs to help execute live shots or stand-ups
- File videos in the news archiving system
- Work alongside MMJs, anchors & news director for daily & weekly coverage plans
