About The Position

WDJT-TV, Weigel Broadcasting’s CBS affiliate in Milwaukee Wisconsin is looking for a Producer. You will execute news content for timely and compelling newscasts using contemporary graphics and production techniques and work with reporters and photojournalists on assigned content. Other duties may include developing ideas, researching topics, booking guests, and logging footage. Position requires someone with multiplatform news skills and a passion to deliver news in a compelling way to our viewers. Excellent news judgment is needed, including an understanding of the importance of breaking news and severe weather coverage, writing and copy-editing skills, and an understanding of branding, maintaining, and growing a brand with a high standard of quality and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment. Excellent writing and effective communication skills, innovation, creativity, and a desire to win are essential. The ideal candidate has a background and experience in producing local newscasts.
