About The Position
WTAE-TV, the ABC affiliate in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a talented News Producer who possesses the creative vision necessary to craft meaningful and memorable newscasts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in making editorial decisions and effectively communicating plans to the team. This role requires a proactive approach to winning the big story, owning breaking news, and ensuring that important weather information is prominently displayed. The successful candidate must be quick on their feet and able to collaborate effectively with a team of like-minded professionals. Accuracy is paramount in this position, as the News Producer will play a critical role in shaping the viewer's experience during live broadcasts. As a News Producer, you will be responsible for selecting, researching, and writing content for live newscasts, transforming each broadcast into an engaging experience for viewers. You will work closely with reporters, guiding them in story production, and coordinating the creative vision with a diverse team that includes anchors, meteorologists, photographers, editors, and production staff. Additionally, you will be tasked with boothing assigned newscasts, breaking news, and weather events, ensuring that all elements come together seamlessly during live broadcasts.
